Hello, I’m Richard, I became a counsellor, psychotherapist and sex therapist in my mature years after a career in the design world in London. Searching for balance, fulfillment and meaning in life has always aroused my curiosity. Engaging in this journey of self development, I realised my personal and human potential IF we look inside and get to know our true selves as best we can. I qualified as a therapist 16 years ago and perhaps due to my own multi-cultural background, find an evolving world of mixed backgrounds come into the therapy room where differences can be explored.
We are all to some extent dominated by patterns from childhood and traumatic experiences yet we all have possibilities to move on with our lives.
Professionally I am a BACP Accredited counsellor/psychotherapist and senior COSRT Accredited psychosexual therapist working with adult individuals and couples. My practice is solely online via Zoom. This allows for flexibility in an ever changing world of mental health support and particularly took off during the pandemic when people required a versatile service from thier homes and offices. Online fees are competitively priced at £60/hour.
Therapeutic Approach: I am an Integrative practitioner drawing upon a range of ways of helping; from short term coaching style to longer term deeper work. My specialism is psychosexual therapy: sexual and relationship difficulties that couples and individuals experience; erection problems (ED and PE); sexual compulsivity (masturbation habits, Chat, hookup apps, webcam); pornography (compulsivity, impinging productivity); infidelity (affairs, sex workers, massage parlours); infertility issues; anxiety and depression; low libido; intimacy issues; communication problems; family problems; children problems; money problems; divorce/separation problems; anger management; cultural impact on relationships; trauma and integenerational trauma; addiction.
In essence my work is about connection, well being, dispelling shame, a positive view of sexuality and relationship, LGBTQ+ positive, person centred; seeing the client from their world perspective and away from the shame of abstinence models.
